Academics
Poem: The Swing by Robert Louis Stevenson; recitation this week! Idiom: An apple a day keeps the doctor away.
Spalding: This week we will have 29 words Spelling Test on Friday!
Writing: Copy work and narration exercises will be from The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams Bianco and How to Eat Fried Worms by Thomas Rockwell
Grammar: We will have an adjectives assessment on Tuesday. We will recite our poems on Wednesday.
Math: We’re ready for multiplication as we practice adding repeated groups!
Literature: We will read our first piece of historical fiction as we venture back to the revolutionary war and read “Sam the Minuteman”.
History: This week we will learn about England’s reason for exploration. We will also learn about the Lost Colony, Jamestown and the Pilgrims journey to the New World.
Science: This week we will study the lives and careers of Edward Jenner and Louis Pasteur. We will discuss the experiments and discoveries that they provided to the world as scientists.
