Week 31

Happy April!

March has flown by and with a new month comes a new virtue! Integrity means to choose what is right and to know the difference between right and wrong.  We will be looking for ways to practice this virtue in and out of the classroom!

Our fingers help us remember setting, characters, problem, events (beginning, middle and end) and the solution.  Please use this strategy to retell nightly reading and for your child to share about the folktales they have read in class. Additionally, please send if your child’s copy of My Father’s Dragon.

History: We will continue to study the colonist’s journey to the American Revolution. We will learn about how the colonies united and Paul Revere’s famous midnight ride! We will also learn about the battle at Lexington and Concord and the Declaration of Independence.

Science: This week we will be studying stars and their size, age, and color. We will look closely at constellations and even make some of our own! We will also be learning the phases of the moon. Look out for a phases of the moon song for extra fun at home practice.
